Website
With the print edition, the Tribal Tribune also has a website where stories are uploaded individually, recent news is posted, printed editions are displayed and much more. I have written three stories that were web exclusives, meaning stories that were not printed and only uploaded due to time relevance.
Murdock achieves new career point total
Stepping up to the free throw line, senior Kai Murdock was one point away from a monumental moment. Making his second free throw, Murdock had reached his 1000th career point. Going into the Jan. 2 home game against the West Ashley Wildcats, Murdock experienced nerves as he needed four more points to meet this milestone. The Lastest: COVID-19 and DECA
DECA is an international business club that offers students the opportunity to showcase their skills that they have learned in their business related courses. While competing in regionals, state, and then national competition, students have the opportunity to win scholarships and money, all while furthering their business skills. *There are two stories in this post, however, mine is the second one labeled DECA Exploring Boone Hall’s ‘fright night’
Once mid-September rolls around in Mt. Pleasant teens get excited at the sight of a clearing in the farmland on highway 17. One that will transform into a nightmare. The area where they spent their younger days picking strawberries and pumpkins has taken a frightening turn. But this turn is much-anticipated. Welcome to Fright Night. |
Instagram posts
While being Editor in Chief, I have assisted with Instagram posts relating to our recently published stories or events going on within our school. We try to post at least three times a week, to keep up with our social media presence. Normally, sneak peaks of recent stories are posted, with one picture, and the first three paragraphs of the story. The goal of these post is to bring attention to our print and website to direct readers to them.
This is an Instagram post that I personally posted on the Tribal Tribune's account in order to bring attention to the recent story we published. The caption has the first three paragraphs of the story I wrote, including a picture of the athlete that I also took.
This is another Instagram post that I personally posted on the Tribal Tribune account. This was to direct people to our website to look at the most recent photo gallery of the boys and girls varsity basketball game from Jan. 6. I wrote the captain, giving a little insight to what the photos would be about.
This Instagram post is about a story that was published in our December issue. In the caption I included the first couple paragraphs of the story, and one of the pictures that was used in the design. Even though this story was printed and published in December, we still post about them to direct students to the website and print editions.
